Our client in Bexley are currently looking for a Data Analyst.
The postholder will be responsible for implementing and overseeing the information management system for the Drug Intervention Programme and National Drug Treatment Monitoring System (NDTMS) data submissions. The postholder will also contribute towards the evaluation of treatment and support services to inform the development of effective interventions as part of the ongoing delivery of Bexley’s substance misuse strategy. This includes managing the production of detailed analysis to evaluate drug treatment performance, particularly concerning the needs of clients and vulnerable groups.
The postholder will work with local providers and partner agencies to develop and maintain effective monitoring and data management systems and a robust performance management framework which will feed into contract reviews and the commissioning process. In addition, the postholder will lead on the monitoring and evaluation of partnership initiatives in order to meet internal and external reporting requirements. This includes taking a leading role in supporting Crime Audit processes and the Partnership’s needs mapping function, particularly in relation to drugs and alcohol-related activity.
The postholder will be responsible for reporting performance to the Partnership, Department of Health and Home Office, including a detailed analysis of performance issues, supported by detailed improvement plans.
The postholder will also be required to work with other partner agencies, including Bexley Police, to assist with the coordination of the Partnership’s efforts to provide accurate and timely information, which supports the Borough’s approach towards crime reduction and the delivery of neighbourhood-focused services, including Community Safety Action Zones (CSAZ) and contribute towards the development of robust information sharing protocols.
Substantial experience of using information technology, with advanced knowledge of Microsoft packages, including Access and Excel.
Experience of analysing and assessing data to support the mapping of needs with an ability to interpret data to inform the development of strategy, influence the delivery of services, and evaluate the impact of interventions.
General knowledge and understanding of current community safety and regeneration policies including the Crime and Disorder Act 1998, ASB Act 2003 and associated legislation.
In-depth knowledge of national policy in relation to substance misuse and substance misuse data requirements and an ability to translate this into local action.
Ability to collect, collate, prioritise, evaluate and interpret large quantities of complex qualitative data to extract salient points and develop inferences to make recommendations for action.
Knowledge and experience of data protection issues, especially with regard to client consent and ethical procedures.
Ability to project manage the development of a case management and drug/alcohol treatment software information system.
Experience of devising and delivering training and an ability to communicate technical issues to non-technical staff.
Ability to use initiative, working independently with minimum supervision and to apply sound decision making skills.
Experience in providing regular reports to Senior Managers and Partnership groups on performance issues and presenting information that is accurate, timely and relevant.
Understanding of partnership arrangements for the delivery of community safety and neighbourhood-focussed services and an ability to build successful partnership cooperation and work with a wide range of external bodies.
Experience of supporting the delivery of partnership strategies in the context of local government or in the public sector.
