• Vacancy Title: Administration Manager
• Pay Rate: £18.40 ph Limited Co (estimated and tbc) or £15.05 ph PAYE (+ paid holidays)

• Anticipated Length of Assignment: 3 months initially, though considered likely to be extended.
• Hours per week: 36, Monday – Friday, normal business hours
• Essence of role:
Reporting to the Head of Planning and Building control the postholder has to take responsibility for the administration of planning applications and enforcement enquiries and complaints and for the management of the appeals process as well as ensuring the delivery of effective administrative support for all Development Control and Policy & Transport staff. The postholder has to manage and provide direction to staff and prioritise a significant workload. They will be responsible in liaison with the Head of Planning and Building Control and the development Control and Policy & Transport Managers for appraisals and for setting targets which assist the achievement of targets in the Unit’s Service Plan.
The postholder is required to be familiar with the tasks of the Unit and able to deal with the full range of queries relating to the administration of planning applications and appeals, policy support work and requests for a wide range of planning information. The postholder must also be able to provide advice and assistance on general planning and administrative matters.
The postholder will be required to allocate resources to meet potential changes in priority and ensure that staff within the team are directed and motivated accordingly. They will frequently have to use their own judgment to develop solutions and ensure that staff in the team deliver a high quality customer focused service.

- office and staff management experience
- administrative experience within a town planning department
